5 Essentials for a Transformed Life

The English word that is translated "transformed" in the original Greek language in Romans 12:2 is the same word from which we get our English word metamorphosis. Last week I spoke about how God does not want us to be like a caterpillar crawling around chewing leaves, but how he wants us to be a beautiful flying butterfly. God wants us to live in a new dimension radically different from the life we once lived. It happens by a renewing of our minds.Last week I began looking at 5 Essentials for a transformed life. I started with the importance of God's Word and the Holy Spirit. Tonight I want to look at the importance of Prayer and Thanksgiving in the transformation process.

The Importance of Forgiveness 2

This Sunday evening I want to continue talking about forgiveness. We all know we should forgive, but often we find it difficult. I think this ia because we have a misunderstanding of what forgiveness looks like, and we don't know how to forgive. This message is bondage releasing and life transforming. Be sure not to allow the enemy to steal it from you.

The Importance of Forgiveness 1

Hopefully we all recognise that God commands us to forgive those who have offended us, but when it comes to actually forgiving someone who has hurt us deeply, often our practice doesn't match our belief. Why is this? I believe it is because we don't really understand what forgiveness is. So tonight I'm going to start by explaining what forgiveness is not, and in the weeks ahead I will explain what forgiveness is and how to walk in it. This is life changing, liberating stuff, don't let the enemy rob you of walking in the freedom it brings.

What had the disciples not understood?

There's a passage in Mark 8 just after Jesus had fed the multitude when He walks on water. The disciples seeing him are terrified thinking He was a ghost but Jesus tells them to take courage and not be afraid. Then Mark records "the disciples were completely amazed because they had not understood about the loaves". Tonight I want to ask the question What had the disciples not understood? There are some principles here that I will draw out that will help us all on our journey with God.
